The lowlands in Sri Lanka have a typical tropical climate, where the average temperature remains around 27 degree C. The high lands of Sri Lanka have coll climate with the average temperature remaining 16 degree C at the height of 2000 meters.
Days in Sri Lanka are full of sunshine even during the monsoon seasons. There is no off season in Sri Lanka, speaking climatically. In the eastern and northern regions of Sri Lanka north-east monsoon brings rain during December and January. The central, southern and western regions of Sri Lanka receive rain from south west monsoon in the months from May to July.
