There are seventy countries whose nationals are treated as bona-fide tourists. After their arrival in Sri Lanka they are permitted entry and are granted 30 days stay. These countries are listed under “Schedule A”. People visiting Sri Lanka for other purposes than holiday have to obtain prior Visit Visas. The validity period of the visa is maximum 90 days. One year is the period of initial issue.
The Schedule A countries whose nationals can enter the country of Sri Lanka and can stay up to 30 days without making any payment and without prior visas are: Azerbaijan, Austria, Australia, Armenia, Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovnia, Belgium, Belarus, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Croatia, China, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, France, Finland, Greece, Germany, Georgia, Hungary, Hong Kong, Italy, Israel, Ireland, Indonesia, India, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Luxemburg, Lithuania, Latvia, Maldives, Malaysia, Norway, New Zealand, Netherlands, Nepal, Oman, Portugal, Poland, Philippines, Pakistan, Russian Federation, Romania, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Korea, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, South Africa, Slovenia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Thailand, Tajikistan, Taiwan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, United States of America, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and Yugoslavia.
If you are a national of any other country outside the Schedule A list then you have to obtain a valid visa from the Sri Lankan Mission of your country.
